Holiday Meeting with General Tate
Speaker: Brigadier General Frank Tate
Brigadier General (P) Frank W. Tate graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1988 and was commissioned in the Aviation Branch. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the United States Military Academy, a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Troy State University, a Master’s Degree in Military Art and Science from the School of Advanced Military Studies, and a Master’s Degree in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. BG Tate’s command assignments include command of C Troop, 4th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 18th Aviation Brigade, XVIII Airborne Corps, deployed for OPERATIONS SUPPORT DEMOCRACY and UPHOLD DEMOCRACY, Haiti; command of 2d Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Light) deployed to OPERATIONS ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM, Afghanistan and Iraq; and command of 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division (Light), deployed for OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, Afghanistan. In August 2014, BG Tate became the Deputy Commanding General (Support) for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and deployed to Monrovia, Liberia in support of OPERATION UNITED ASSISTANCE combating Ebola. BG Tate assumed duties as the Director of Army Aviation, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (ODCS) G-3/5/7, Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) in July 2017. Key positions throughout his career include Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations in MNC-NE, Szczecin Poland; Chief, Aviation Systems Division, ODCS G-8, HQDA; Chief, Aviation Systems, Army Aviation Division, ODCS G3/5/7, HQDA; Operations Officer, 25th Aviation Brigade, deployed to Afghanistan in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM; and Chief of Plans, G-3, 25th Infantry Division (Light), deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in support of OPERATION JOINT GUARD. BG Tate's Awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (2 OLC), the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (6 OLC), the Air Medal (Numeral 2), the Army Commendation Medal (V Device, 2 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal (2 BSS), the Afghanistan and Iraqi Campaign Medals, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Combat Action Badge, Master Aviator Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
